Inside the Lobby of a Walk-In Voting Center

This was taken Sunday night, at the Carpenter Center For the Performing Arts, located at Cal State Long Beach. This was the second polling station we visited over the weekend. The first was at Cal State Northridge, which was a bit more of a drive from Norwalk. I didn't get a photo of that setup, but I was able to get a photo of the setup here. Everything was going smoothly, even though they had half the machines that were in Northridge.

Anyway, I liked the way the lobby looked from this position, so I took a photo.

The Carpenter Center For the Performing Arts is a venue where Richard Carpenter is the primary benefactor (and annual benefactor). If the name doesn't ring a bell, perhaps his sister's name will ring a bell: Karen Carpenter. Her untimely death in 1983 inspired her brother to promote and nurture the arts for other aspiring artists, as well as bringing in performances from established artists. (The Carpenters were Long Beach natives. This is Richard's way of giving back something to his community as well as providing a legacy for his talented sister.)
