37800 5A12 - a photo on Flickriver

37800 5A12

            Running a day later than intended as a result of coupling issues, Europhoenix (Rail Operations Group) Class 37, 37800 is seen here dragging a broken down Grand Central High Speed Train (with Powercars 43480 and 43423) onto the avoiding line at Newcastle from Bounds Green depot in London to Heaton Traction Maintenance Depot just north of the station. 

It was originally booked to pass through the station on platform 2 however, as a result of ongoing issues at Dunbar with some services to Scotland being held or cancelled at Newcastle, the plan went down the drain.

It wasn't all doom and gloom though as the change from platform 2 to the avoiding line meant that 37800 had to stop for a good few minutes, allowing a regional service to depart in front, giving extra photo opportunities - 12/04/17
