chickadee Another weird oriole? - a photo on Flickriver

            Maybe the black capped oriole?

This chickadee was raiding the grape jelly that we put out early in the seson to give new arrivals a boost.

This is the first year we've noticed this behaviour.

Chickadee calls are complex and language-like, communicating information on identity and recognition of other flocks as well as predator alarms and contact calls. The more dee notes in a chickadee-dee-dee call, the higher the threat level.
