Lost Lagoon then and now - 1992 and 2013

            The 1992 park grounds (top photo) were much more manicured and open-looking than they are today (bottom photo) -- over the past few years the city has undertaken a habitat restoration program to benefit the local waterfowl here. Lots of nice places for ducks and geese to nest now, and to hide from those pesky tourists. 

It's not quite as "pretty", but still a stunningly lovely place, brimming with life. In another month or two there will be ducklings everywhere!

Sorry about the poor quality of the 1992 photo.  It is a scan from a 35mm contact sheet print from my high school photography class.  If I ever find the original, I will post a better image here!
