Excavators in weird places - a photo on Flickriver

            Just checking out the construction activity on the reno/demo of the old Post Office building at Georgia & Homer.  Can't remember the last time I saw an excavator sitting on a rooftop helipad, or an 8th floor terrace!  Hopefully the small scale of the equipment is a good indicator that they're taking care to preserve much of the old building -- it'd be really easy to go all big & smashy instead of methodically bit by bit, considering how well-built & strong/solid it is.  It'll be interesting to watch the new office tower(s?) sprout up from the middle of the structure.
