The Ultimate Workhorse - a photo on Flickriver

            In an ever changing Railway scene there's always remained one constant since the early 1950s, the British Railways English Electric 350hp Shunter. Admittedly they are used  in much reduced numbers nowadays but still remain vital to operations, often behind the scenes

One such Engine is 08809, employed at Ketton Cement works and amongst its duties are tripping wagons off 6M85 and 6F93 round the tight curves from Ward sidings into the Terminal

Its seen on 14th May 2019 with its RMS Locotec livery and Number (24) taking wagons north
