The Castle of Noudar is located within Noudar Nature Park in Alentejo/Portugal, between the Múrtega and Ardila rivers.

The construction of this medieval fortress dates from the early 14th century (finished in 1307), when it took an important role for border defense against the kingdom of Castile (now part of Spain).

The weird light on the window wasn’t planned (not seen when I started the shot) and was only found out when processing the image. Those buildings have been uninhabited for many decades...
