48165 was recently spared the touch of the scrappers claw at Werris Creek - many classmates, either long term stored or recently operational were not so lucky. 48165, the final of a once 165-strong class stands forlorn out the back of Werris Creek Loco pondering a lifetime of tireless service, waiting for her fate.

It's silly to be nostalgic about what is an inhuman machine. Well, silly to those who have not heard these veterans in full cry, lifting a grain train from a standing start in Willow Tree loop, attempting to tackle the grade to Ardglen with a loaded grain train...
