AN8 at Werai - a photo on Flickriver

AN8 at Werai

            On Friday the 3rd of January, Pacific National ran two containerised garbage trains to Crisps Creek (near Tarago). The first train left Sydney in the very early hours of the morning behind three AN Class locomotives. A second (additional) rake of wagons was run down later behind a pair of 81 Class locomotives. The three AN Class then returned mid-morning with those wagons that had already been unloaded, running as train 2124. The two 81 Class locomotives then brought the additional wagons, as well as the remainder of the original train back on the normal 2122 path.

AN8 leads AN4 and AN2 through the curves at Werai with 2124 extra garbage train. It is an uncommon sight to see three AN Class used on this train, and even more unusual to see it run in the middle of the day!
