The Moon walk

So you are probably wondering "where is the moon?". Well, there is no moon! The Moonwalk of New Orleans is a scenic boardwalk installed on top of the levee that was built to protect the city from the water of Mississippi river. From there you can have a wonderful view of Jackson square and New Orleans cityscape, especially during sunset as the sun is hiding behind Saint Louis Cathedral steeples. Its name derives from Mayor Moon Landrieu who was the one that converted that area from shipping docks to a river walk. The elevated plaza at the highest spot of the levee is called Washington Artillery Park, it honors the 141st Field Artillery of the Louisiana National Guard and it is decorated by a Civil War cannon.
