Each of the 233 images was used as a single frame of this time-lapse.  From this series everything in this series was created. The "Still", "the Comet Mode", "the Reverse Comet Mode" and the associated TL movies for each.

To capture the 2+ hour long series, the internal Interval Timer option was used.  The interval was set to 33 seconds.

33 seconds was critical.  

30" actually equals 32 seconds.  Not 30 seconds.  

Go back to Photo 101.  Shutter Speeds have a halving / doubling relationship. 1/2 -> 1 sec -> 2" -> 4" -> 8" -> 15" (??) -> 30" (?!?!)

15" is actually 16 seconds.  30" is actually 32 seconds. (go ahead... test it for your self. Use the timer mode on your phone and test it. I'll wait...)

We need the interval between start times of each exposure to be exposure time + 1 second.  

33 seconds.

Setting the interval time to 31 seconds will cause the camera system to crash and stop shooting after about 40 shots.

Each frame was dropped into FinalCut Pro X. The timing of each frame was set to 1/30th of a second and the final movie exported.
