Torrent on the Icicle - a photo on Flickriver

            Near the Snow Lakes Trailhead in the Okanagon-Wenatchee National Forest of the Eastern Cascade Mountains, this bridge crosses the Icicle River.

I spent a night in Leavenworth, Washington, a neat Alpine town that looks and feels like it's in the Bavarian Alps.  During my stay I had a brief opportunity to explore, so hiked a couple of miles along the Snow Lakes Trail.  The weather was a bit sketchy with heavy clouds and strong breezes, so I kept the excursion short.  I couldn't help stopping on the way back to the Jeep and capturing an image of Icicle Creek flowing heavy with the Spring melt.

Someday I hope to return to this area with my spouse and take in more of the grandeur of the Cascades region.
