olkhon (Explore)

For many tourists and photographers Baikal Lake means mostly Olkhon. This is a large island situated close to the Western coast. Famous rocks, nice sights, interesting fast changing climate, motor boat journeys, lovely food - that is what the people may find here.

For us, having an unusual trip on boats, meeting Olkhon island was really spectacular. Here you can see both a bit of Oklhon (this small bay in the foreground) and the main coast of Baikal lake (in the distance). This location is called Olkhon Gates - the channel between Olkhon and the main land.

You can see our boats and all the camp here. But most of my friends walked up the hill to watch this beauty from above.
