The Royal Border Bridge at Berwick-upon-Tweed

            The Royal Border Bridge spans the River Tweed. It was built between 1847 and 1850. At the height of construction, 2,700 men worked at the site.

I absolutely wanted to visit Berwick (it's pronounced "Berrick") because I love reading Elisabeth George's crime stories, and the main female character, Sergeant Barbara Havers, is continuously at risk of being "expatriated" to Berwick by her boss. Well then, it's a pleasant town, but the winters must be a little bit colder than in London.
