            Class 115 Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) M51896 is the lead vehicle of a four car set standing in the yard of Marylebone depot, 13th August 1982. 

Marylebone depot was situated on the Up side just north of the station. It was originally a six road carriage shed, built in 1898 and converted to service the Class 115 fleet allocated for Marylebone suburban services in 1961. Marylebone depot closed around 1991 and the site is now covered in blocks of flats. 
 
Unit History
Forty one class 115 high density suburban four car sets were ordered from Derby works and entered traffic in 1960. They were long framed units and the motor vehicles were fitted with the powerful Leyland Albion engines. The majority of the class (including M51896) were allocated to Marylebone, however six units were allocated to Allerton for Liverpool suburban duties. The class 115 fleet at Marylebone operated until displaced by class 165 units around 1991 when the fleet was generally withdrawn. M51896 entered traffic in November 1960. withdrawn in December 1991 and broken up during April 1992.
