Special:
- The Frisky car project was conceived by Captain Raymond Flower, racing driver and Managing Director of the Cairo Motor Co Ltd., Nuffield distributors in Egypt Flower.
- A prototype ("the Bug" prototype) was designed by Gordon Bedson: a small coupe car, with the name Meadows-Frisky. The steel prototype had gull-wing doors.
- Whilst The Bug was under development, the Italian coachbuilding company Vignale of Turin was commissioned by Flower to design the bodywork for the production version, a task they allocated to Giovanni Michelotti.
- The "Gull-wing bug", Britain’s first baby “bubble car”, was shown at the '57 Geneva Motorshow. Two of these bodies were produced by Vignale.
- However it quickly became clear that the Gull-wing design would be too expensive for mass-production and so work began on completely redesigning the car in time for the London Earls Court Motor Show in October.
- The Gull-wing doors were replaced by more conventional suicide doors and the engine increased.
- There would be two cars on the October show, the Frisky Saloon and the Frisky Sport, a convertible version. However at the show, the "Saloon" prototype on display never made production, 
- The first production model, the "Frisky Sport", was made of fibreglass and was initially called Phoenix-Frisky and initially be build in Scandinavia.
- Production remained in the UK and its name changed in Meadows-Frisky, later just Frisky.
- Moulds for the new fibreglass bodies were built in-house, and so were a few of the bodies, but most were made at the nearby Guy factory where a fibreglass body plant had been set up to make lorry cabs.
- The Sport had a welded steel tube chassis with roller chain transmission in an oil bath.
- The 2-stroke engines came from Villiers, had a sinle Villers 525/3 carburettor and were mounted in the back.
- The also used Excelsior engines.
- The Frisky Sport had a manual four-speed motorcycle gearbox and rear wheel drive.
- The backside of the car was made that small to obviate the need for a differential.
- The car was fitted with a four-speed motorcycle manual gearbox, with reverse obtained by running the engine backwards through the starter motor.
- There even came a 3-wheeled version in 1959, the Frisky Family Three.
- As far as known, there are only 5 survivors known and only 3 of them are in drivable condition (Oliver Hartmann).
