97022k - Una mia diapositiva del 1997

            Gruppo dolomitico del Sassolungo , collocato tra la Val Gardena e la Val di Fassa. Nella foto, da destra verso sinistra, La cima Sassolungo (Langkofelspitze), la Punta delle cinque Dita (Fünfffingerspitze) e la Punta Grohmann (Grohmannspitze). 
Nella sella tra il Sassolungo e la Punta delle Cinque Dita si trova il rifugio Toni Demetz (non visibile nella foto) dedicato alla memoria della omonima guida alpina morta a soli 20 anni a causa di un fulmine che lo colpì insieme a 2 clienti (uno dei quali deceduto per lo stesso motivo) sulla cima del Sassolungo. Il rifugio e’ raggiungibile a piedi o in cabinovia, segnalata nella foto.
Ai piedi del Sassolungo si notano i resti di una enorme frana, la “Città dei Sassi”.

In the saddle between Sassolungo and Punta delle Cinque Dita there is the Toni Demetz refuge (not visible in the photo) dedicated to the memory of the homonymous mountain guide who died at the age of 20 due to a lightning strike that struck him together with 2 customers (one of the which died for the same reason) on the top of Sassolungo. The refuge can be reached on foot or by cable car, indicated in the photo.
At the foot of the Sassolungo you can see the remains of a huge landslide, the "Città dei Sassi".
