Eye in Eye with Ear Near and Voice Perpetually Permeating from Burn Through Bridge over the South Esk 5 of 7

            On my slow, slow way aiming to mark a moment at a little ornate bridge I was caught in the gaze of this alluring much larger steel and stone bridge. I wanted to take in the evening essence close to Samhain, Halloween, or All Hallow's Eve which ever you use for the time of pumpkins and witches. The large bridge was was standing out of the wooded glen and yet the colours of the paintwork were muted and almost pastel in appearance as the diffused evening light created a quickly changing scene that called out to be recorded.

I have created the image to accentuate the eye, or Vesica Piscis. The original image was cropped and then a second image was reflected to create the eye shape. The original shape seemed perfect to hold some smaller versions of the eye. Eventually there were five eye shapes to suggest an opening, or a closing eye, maybe even a focusing eye, or an eye releasing focus and allowing scenes to present themselves. The different patterns of the eye gave different perspectives on the structure generating different, even opposing reactions.

If you care to look along the edges where the pictures have been joined there are some fantastic creatures and incredible shapes waiting for symmetry to release them. The overall pattern of the reflections can generate a sense of being watched, or of being ignored. The eyes that look at us seem intrusive and those that don’t seem ignorant. The Eye of Shiva opens for the whole of creation to take place. He is with Shakti and her role in opening the eye of creation is integral to the process. When they reach their fulfilment the Eye of Shiva closes and creation is ended in the contraction of the fertile power of Shiva’s Eye. I hope that it is not upsetting to say that Shakti might keep Shiva’s Eye and creation continuing for a long time to come and that she might even be ready to see if the creative eye can open again expanding the potential of creation.

Generating the eyes was an absolute pleasure. I hope that you like, or have a potent reaction to the pictures. Night and day the bridge is driven over and walked under. Both regarded and unnoticed it has the potential to be seen as an eye, to be imagined as a pair of eyes and even to visualised as a pattern of eyes. Opening to see everything and closing to see nothing whilst taking in everything in between the functional bridge incorporates within the structure engaging lines that call out to inspire interested minds.
