Great Crested Flycatcher - Tyran huppé

            This has been a great spring/summer for Great Crested Flycatchers in and around Ottawa - I have had them chaperoning my early morning walks on an abandoned road east of Ottawa (hawking the deer flies attracted to me and the dragonflies attracted to deer flies) and as a more or less constant presence calling out from the canopies at Britannia. This is the second bird to have dropped out of the canopy while I was nearby and that has seemed relaxed enough to try to secure images that include as many of the often mutually-exclusive field marks as possible - especially the rufous tail feathers and the lemony-yellow breast.
