SKYLAND (la Terre du ciel)

C’était un jour sans pluie.
Il y avait un escalier qui semblait monter au ciel
Et bien au-delà.

Un homme montait une à une les marches de cet escalier vers les nuages, les yeux fixés au-delà de toutes frontières
Et pour la première fois, il s’arrêta et regarda vers le bas.

Cinquante nuances d’un bleu magique
Une beauté venue des origines
Une parcelle d’univers, à la fois puissante et fragile
Sa planète.

De ce point de vue inédit sur son monde
Il lui apparut que l’ordre premier des choses de la vie 
N’était pas celui qu’il avait connu au bas de l’escalier.
Celui des humains qui guerroyaient entre eux, qui dressaient des barrières entre les peuples, qui refusaient toute responsabilité face à leur environnement.

Mais au loin, au-delà des cinquante nuances de bleu, il discerna cinquante nuances d’espoir.
Suis-je un rêveur marginal se demanda-t-il?
Demain pourrait-il vraiment ne plus être semblable à hier… 
Pour moi et tous ceux qui graviront cet escalier?

C’était un jour sans pluie.
Il y avait un escalier qui semblait monter au ciel.
Et bien au-delà.
Et tout en haut, un homme souriait
Au-delà de toutes les frontières.

Skyland

It was a day without rain.
There was a stairway that seemed to rise to the sky,
and well beyond.

A man climbed one by one the stairs of this stairway towards the clouds, his eyes fixed beyond all frontiers
And for the first time, he stopped and looked down.

Fifty shades of magic blue
A beauty from the origins
A piece of the universe, at the same time powerful and fragile,
His planet.

From this unique point of view on his world
It appeared to him that the main order of things in life
Was not the one he had known at the bottom of the stairs.
That of humans quarrelling with each other,
Who raise barriers between people, who refused
any responsibility towards the environment.


But in the distance, beyond the fifty shades of blue,
he distinguished fifty shades of hope.
Am I a marginal dreamer, he wondered?
Tomorrow could it really be no longer like yesterday...
For me and all those who climb the stairs?

It was a day without rain.
There was a stairway that seemed to climb to the sky
And well beyond.
And at the top, a man was smiling
Beyond all frontiers.
