Bediening Zinkwitfabriek Eijsden in 1991

            Tot begin jaren '90 had de zinkwitfabriek in Eijsden nog een spooraansluiting. Deze takte af vanaf de niet (met 3000V) geëlektricifeerde zijsporen ten zuidoosten van het station. Hier vandaan liep de aansluiting met een boog direct het fabrieksterrein op. De bediening gebeurde 's ochtends vanuit Maastricht met een 600 of een 2200. Op 15 oktober 1991 is de rangeerploeg met de 655 op pad gestuurd om één wagen op te halen. Hier vertrekken ze in een waterig herfstzonnetje als buurtgoederentrein 55946 terug naar Maastricht.

Until the early 1990s a zinc white factory in Eijsden / Holland, still had a connection to the railway network. It branched off from the non-electrified side tracks of Eijsden station, near the Belgian border.  The tracks turned east and immediately entered the factory's premisses. The freight wagons were brought and collected in the morning hours by a local freight train from Maastricht. A class 600 or class 2200 was used for this short trip. On October 15th, 1991, the crew was send to Eijsden with locomotive 655. This is the same as the BR class 08. Here they depart back to Maastricht as local freight train 55946 in the first sunlight of this cold Autumn morning.
