Unidad eléctrica 964 "Mandoia" cubriendo un servicio Bermeo-Matiko

            La pandemia que nos azota sin tregua impone también drásticas  restricciones  a la movilidad. En estos momentos, no puedo desplazarme fuera de mi municipio pero hasta hace unos días aún podía moverme por diferentes localidades de la provincia de Vizcaya. La Reserva de la Biosfera de Urdaibai es uno de los más bellos escenarios que conozco para la fotografía ferroviaria pero la monotonía de las circulaciones no es, precisamente, un imán para acercarse hasta estos hermosos parajes. Investigando la zona con Google Maps encontré un punto muy atractivo junto a la antigua tejera de Murueta, una fábrica de ladrillos abandonada con una arquitectura muy fotogénica. Como de costumbre, la mala suerte me acompañó en mi primera toma de contacto con el lugar porque junto a la vía se encontraba un operario desbrozando la vegetación. El ruido que producía era ensordecedor, especialmente insufrible en un paraje caracterizado por su silencio,  y la silueta de este inesperado trabajador se iba a interponer irremediablemente entre el fotógrafo y el tren. Decidí alejarme todo lo que pude del estridente panorama que me había tocado y fue entonces cuando mi mala suerte se transformó en buena fortuna porque me encontré con este fabuloso entorno, mucho más atractivo que el primer encuadre, el que me había llevado hasta Murueta. Aquel día la marea estaba muy baja pero volví un par de semanas más tarde para poder hacer esta foto con el tren reflejándose sobre la Ría de Gernika. Como no quedaba ni rastro del operario de la desbrozadora, me desquité y pude fotografiar  otra unidad de la Serie 950 junto a la tejera de Murueta, una imagen que me gusta pero no tanto como esta.

The pandemic that strikes us relentlessly also imposes drastic restrictions on mobility. At the moment, I cannot move outside my municipality, but until a few days ago I was still able to move through different locations in the province of Vizcaya. The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve is one of the most beautiful scenery that I know of for railway photography, but the monotony of traffic is not exactly a magnet to get closer to these beautiful places. Investigating the area with Google Maps I found a very attractive point next to the old Murueta tile, an abandoned brick factory with a very photogenic architecture. As usual, bad luck accompanied me in my first contact with the place because next to the road an operator was clearing the vegetation. The noise that he produced was deafening, especially unbearable in a place characterized by its silence, and the silhouette of this unexpected worker was going to inevitably interpose  between the photographer and the train. I decided to get away as much as I could from the strident panorama that I had encountered and it was then that my bad luck turned into good fortune because I found this fabulous environment, much more attractive than the first frame, the one that had led me to Murueta. That day the tide was very low but I came back a couple of weeks later to be able to take this photo with the train reflecting on the Ría de Gernika. As there was no trace of the brushcutter operator, I took it out and was able to photograph another 950 Series unit next to Murueta's tile, an image that I like but not as much as this one.
