            Submission for the Flickr ‘Shine a Light’ competition.

I decided to take my shot (socially safe) from where I read about it. On my sofa. 

Lockdown has affected pretty much the whole planet and whilst we seem to be coming out the other side, there is still a little uncertainty about how we will work safety in the future and the general feeling of ‘is it really safe out there?’ I gave the shot intentional motion blur and a disconcerting angle in camera, just as some dark clouds started to occlude the street light outside. I took a series later when the street light came on, but stuck with this as it looks more ’cautiously optimistic’ than ‘dark and ominous’.

For us lockdown hasn’t been an altogether bad experience. We’re lucky to have a large garden and have been busy working from home throughout, but looking outside the four walls has been at times a little bittersweet.

I don’t usually write lengthy descriptions like this, but kind of feel need to explain my reasons!

Taken with a manual 50mm lens hence no aperture or focal length in the Exif.
