NS 256 at Bates - a photo on Flickriver

NS 256 at Bates

            A pair of AC motors whisk empty Roadrailer train 256 east at Bates, IL on my last railfan jaunt before the coronavirus pandemic.  The rear end of westbound train 297 can be seen in the distance on the left.

With the shutdown of Ford's F150/Transit van plant in Kansas City due to the pandemic, auto parts trains 255, 256, 120, and 181 disappeared for months leaving very little in the way of rail traffic to be seen in the Springfield, IL area during daylight hours.
