First light in the West Highlands - a photo on Flickriver

            An unidentified class 37/4 catches first light as it tracks along the flank of Ben Dorain while working 7Y31, the 0510 Mossend to Mallaig speedlink service.

My first trip to the West Highlands, and I had just got off the sleeper at Tyndrum Upper and cycled towards Bridge of Orchy. I naively thought I would cycle down to one of the viaducts on the Horseshoe curve but the folly of my plan was exposed by the sheer scale and the amount of water on the ground.   

While I was considering my next move this freight came into view, and luckily there was a window where the sun illuminated the train.
