Veteran Diesel out of London Liverpool Street

            The first brush type 2 (or latterly class 31) locomotives were based in East London from 1958 for use on the Great Eastern lines out of Liverpool Street.

Thirty years later class 31s were unusual daylight traction out of 'The Street': they still worked parcels and TPO traffic but passenger diagrams had ceased in the early '80s.

This working was empty stock behind 31464, conveying a Norwich to London set and presumably heading for Thornton Fields sidings.
