Hotel Schiefes Haus Ulm - a photo on Flickriver

            The original timbered house dating from the 14th Century, after several additions or conversions in 1443 acquired its current appearance of a five-storey house. Used was of the ship masters of Ulm.
Located right on the Blau River with its southern foundation, the house rises from the first floor due to oblique struts partially across the river. So there boats could create protected. Investigations of archaeological State Office can also suspect that in the basement of the house, which was then used by fishermen as a space for the repair of their networks, even fish chambers with a natural fresh water supply plants.
Over time, the location to the river side of the house fell sharply, so that even the beginning of the 17th Century support measures had to be introduced.
