            Old men in the sunshine,  
grinning wide with ice cream cones,  
their canes forgotten, their sorrows flown,  
chasing laughter down cobblestone.

A steam train rumbles, proud and bright,  
belching dreams into the light;  
whistles call like distant seas,  
stirring hearts with ancient ease.

Wrinkled hands wave in glee
no past, no shame, just memory  
for in the warmth, beneath the skies,  
the inner child still laughs, still flies.

Let it ride the rails, let it sing,  
let the old men taste the spring;  
let the ice cream melt, let it be
let the inner child run free.
