Emergency storm bracing - a photo on Flickriver

            As storm Darragh rages across the UK, one of my trees succumbed to the ravages of the wind.

Luckily it happened in daylight while I was watching (from a warm safe place) and the tree split rather than snapped of toppled over completely.

After a quick think about the potential damage if it crushed my and the neighbours garden shed - a "damage limitation"  plan was put into action. (that's all the rope I had, so it was the best I could do at the time).

I was conscious of the risk of clambering round a damaged tree in the middle of a storm but I couldn't just stand there.

The storm has all but passed and the sheds are still intact, so now I have to sort out how to take the tree down without crushing the shed.
