            Watergate: Why the scandal still resonates 50 years later.

It's been 50 years since five men with links to the White House broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters, launching a scandal that eventually led to President Richard Nixon resigning. 

50 years ago Richard Nixon thought he was above the law - and recently Donald Trump thought the same; both of them were wrong.

50 years ago "facts mattered" and the news networks told the world - today no one can be sure of what's fact and what's fiction. In this new era of "political transparency" I am not sure we know what's going on any more than we did 50 years ago.

(its the same the world over - the only differences are how much the public knows).
