            In the UK, the average age of a farmer is 59.

Britain could face a farming crisis if it doesn't inspire more younger people to work on the land, a new study has warned. A recent study has found that:

• nearly four in 10 UK farmers are over the age of 65, with the average age 59

• the number of under-25s running farms has dropped by 63% over the past 10 years

• just 3% of millennials now view agricultural work as a desirable career option.
