Storm Chasing 2018: Chasing July Supercells

July 18, 2018 - Central & South Central Nebraska Supercell

If you follow me here on Flickr. Then you already know that I hunt severe weather. This was the best structual supcercell that I was able to capture in 2018. Impressive Supercell Storm Structure... This is what I wait for each year!!!

LP in the beginning and HP to end the night... The opportunity presented itself, and I was prepared. Truck was packed and stacked and ready for this days storm chasing adventure. On the bad side of things...was super sick, pushing a 101 temp...just coming off a summer cold that I had over the past few days. I really shouldn't have been out. Though when it comes to storms you know how committed I am....

I had left early that late afternoon to head north from Kearney to make sure I had time to position myself to intercept this thunderstorm. I knew from days prior that this would be a phenomenal storm chasing day. SPC had us on Target from a few days before this event...the night before were right on target. The rest is History!

Close to home made this a perfect storm chasing event. This was one of the best local chase days of 2018 with Incredible structure, sunset with thunderstorm, and a lightning event that was end this day was just EPIC!
