091119 One Last Storm Chase of 2019 (Part 1 HD Video)

Seriously..... Best viewed in a dark environment!

I labeled this my last #stormchase of the year... It Was.... my last official chase of the 2019 Season.

Good storm structure and severe thunderstorms were on both ends of the state in late September. With my current truck out of commission, and all of my video equipment and cameras out in North Carolina till late October. I've been very limited this month with my choices of storms I had an opportunity to capture. With my 4k Cam fixed... I was off to do something Epic to End the 2019 Storm Chasing Season!

Now we always get a few phenomenal whoppers of #supercells in Nebraska where they are just picture perfect. We had our few this year in 2019.... but this one takes the cake. Right Place Right Time....My goal for that evening was just to capture lightning. Wasn't going to go for #structure captures or trying to hunt down a #tornado. That evening, I wouldn't have to travel far after I set up shop. They all came to me.

Chasing Partner Myles Nelson was on chat with me. He had went out earlier that afternoon and got a head start on the storms that afternoon. I was waiting patiently for what I knew what was to come. Myles had some incredible structure by Hayes Center and as it moved into my direction. I drove out west from Kearney to get out in front of the storm. North Platte and South was my destination. We would eventually meet up here!

I had just turned south on Hwy 83 south of North Platte and the cell I was wanting to catch right at dusk west of North Platte Nebraska, this cell had just split into 2 different cells.

Disappointed due to most of the storms were moving due northwest, I thought I had missed this event. Had another cells to my southwest and the front was to move east that evening. So I took a chance and I hauled my .... further down south just to the north of Wellfleet Nebraska on Hwy 83 / 23 Junction.

Slid off the road to a safe place with an excellent view and wallah.... Perfect timing as the this first cell was regenerating and had some excellent structure. Shooting off lightning every few seconds I knew this was going to be special! The rest was History!

Folks... This video is Part 1 of that evening. A record night in my personal photography journal. Took close to or over 500 pics and ran out of battery power for the first time EVER. Shot everything in 4k UHD that evening.

I wanted to end the storm chasing season in Nebraska with a Bang... and I got way more than I deserved. That being a few hundred excellent captures and then some!
