I spent the week camping throughout Montana and decided a few days at one of my favorite field-sites was a must. I didn't do any fieldwork, just hung out for a few days and took in the scenery (something you actually can miss out on because of the intense nature of the work). This location is not easily accessed and requires a drive up one of the most intense mountain roads I've ever been on. However, if you can get up there, you have a magnificent plateau and all its views to yourself. 

I was fortunate to have both my brothers make it into town who have never been to Montana so I wanted to show them a place that will remain very special to me. We hiked about 15 miles to various alpine lakes and creeks to fish... Another benefit of the isolation is these lakes and creeks don't get hit like many more easily accessible spots. All in all, I think between the three of us, we caught around 40-50 trout.
