THOMSON'S GAZELLE FAWN (Gazella thomsoni)......MASAI MARA......SEPT 2013

            This shot of a young Thomson Gazelle fawn was captured during my last visit to Masai Mara,Sept 2013.Females give birth all year round but the peak is around raining season.Two fawns may be born in a single year and when disturbed,in danger or mother stray away to feed on fresh grass the young gazelle lies down making it difficult to be observed.Preyed on by whole range of predators from lions to pythons.It is a major part of the cheetah's diet.
