All Sown Up.....

The other day I walked by My Grandmothers old sewing machine; the sun was shining through the curtains and illuminating the Singer logo on the cast iron frame. so i took a few shots of it.

My grandmothers sewing machine sits in our spare room, mostly as a decoration, a keepsake to remember her by.. In 1938 she was gifted a treadle Singer sewing machine for her birthday. I acquired it after her passing in 1995.

Under the wooden machine cover was the original owners manual; on the first page it outlined the proper attire for operating the machine. "A lady should have comfortable shoes and a dress to match; as she would need to be as stylish and comfortable as possible to truly enjoy her new sewing machine." LOL
