Lest WeForget...

The brave ones, the soldiers, the valiant few.

The battle raged as bullets flew, these warriors in trenches, hid from view.
bloodied bodies, stacked like wood. They fight a fight that no one should.

Yet in the night these soldiers dare, to cross the lines, to face their fears.
To boldly charge, to a dark unknown. For liberty, justice and defence of home.

For days and nights they push the line, to fight for freedom one last time.
Their struggle beneath the skies of blue. These brave ones, these soldiers, these chosen few.

Yet when they return, we know them not, we barely give them a second thought.
their wages earned for battles won, are scars unseen for duties done.

Ribbons and medals in closets hung, these soldiers, warriors, hang up their guns.
no thanks nor gratitude do they seek, just a place at peace for them to sleep.

In November we Remember, the brave ones, the soldiers, the valiant few.
