Down Along The Forest Path...

Karen and I took a long stroll through the park yesterday, the calmness and peacefulness of having virtually no one around was refreshing.

Many of the trees were showing off their new fall colours; a burst of red here, a dash of yellow and gold there with a hint of burnt umber thrown in for good measure. Some trees had shed their leaves completely; making a colourful crunchy carpet under our feet; layer upon layer of leaves softened the normally rough pathway...

The wind tugged at the drier leaves making a rustling sound high up in the branches, occasionally a wind swept leaf would flutter by only to be caught in the branches of a nearby fir tree or to be swept out over the lake, Their brilliant hues and tones set the water afire with their reflections...
