Stuck in the snow

            I had read many places that Tamanawas Falls was a tough hike in the winter, because of all the ice.  They were right.  

We got to a point in the hike where the snow was covered with frozen rain water, and naturally, this was an area where the trail went up the hill.  There was another couple there that could not figure out how to get up the ice slide.  We finally opted to use the boulders instead and made it past queen of the ice slide.  I think she still may be there trying to get up the hill.  If you see her say hi.  

We approached the falls and just as I was extending the tripod the snow just started dumping on us.  Then it quickly changed to rain, which is far far worse because that would just create more ice.  If you look close at this image you can see the rain all over.  I thought hard about posing this because the rain kind detracts from the look of the image, but in the end, I like the image too much to leave it on the shelf.  

Naturally we did not stay long, I got my shot and off we went.  

Happy winter.  This is actually from last year, we are finding it harder to get out because of the stupid covid.   Hope that will change soon.
