Reflections of Fall - a photo on Flickriver

            On a recent trip near Tillamook we were driving along the Wilson River.  I could see from the car that the time of day was creating these fantastic fall reflections in the water.  Combined with the fact that the rocks all had a very black look to them, I knew I had to get down to the water to get a shot.   

We stopped at the Tillamook Forestry Center.  Perfect, that would give the kids something to do while I snuck down to the water for a shot.  Great plan, but then the drama started.  

My cute 10 year old daughter, who loves everyone, had already made a friend.  Some little 4 year old.  This 4 year old thought she was cleaver and decided to walk in front of the camera and block my shot.  Ok.  Well, I'll move.  So I shifted to the left...so did she.  Ok, I will go way over there.  Guess who followed?  Yup.  I can't tell this little girl where she should go, because I don't know her and I don't want to be rude.  So I look for her parents.  Oh, there they are, so I point to the girl, and her mom says 'I know, isn't she cute?'  Huh?  She didn't call her back, or tell her to quit, so what else can I do.  I push her in the freezing water and dance as she floats downstream.  Bye little demon child!  Ahh, her cries are like soothing water to my soul.  The sweet sounds of justice.  Her screams fading into the distance made the whole trip so fulfilling.  Then I settled in to get my image.  Ahh, that's what landscape photography is about, the solitude.  Great color in that last image!  

Did it really happen that way?  Maybe. I will let your imagination wander.  Let me know what you think of the image.  If you look close you can see a blurry child floating in the back of the image.  Ok, maybe not.
