Kinkaku-ji, der goldene Tempel ist ein buddhistischer Tempel im Nordwesten der Stadt Kyōto. Die oberen Stockwerke sind vollständig mit Blattgold überzogen. Das Gebäude wurde ab 1397 erbaut und zunächst als Reliquien-Halle genutzt. Es ist von einer weitläufigen Parkanlage umgeben. Der Tempel gehört definitiv zu den größten Attraktionen von Kyōto.

Kinkaku-ji, the golden temple is a Buddhist temple in the northwest of the city of Kyoto. The upper floors are completely covered with gold leaf. The building was built from 1397 and was initially used as a relic hall. It is surrounded by an extensive park. The temple is definitely one of the biggest attractions of Kyoto.
