Paulina. I Disappear, outtake no. 1 - a photo on Flickriver

It was my first idea for this project photo. Though I finally made something that looked better for me, I kept also some other shots.

I started post-processing these photos a few days ago and this was the first of them. I thought it would look really nice in monochrome. When making the conversion in Silver Efex Pro 2, I tried some roll films presets. I made a B&W version using Agfa APX 400 preset, as same as always, but something different catched my eye...

This is the version with Kodak T-Max 100 preset. I was just AMAZED how the extremely high contrast suits with the picture and the pose of Paulina looking through the window in this abandoned house. In the first version, the details of the wall (with the old wallpaper) in the background were still visible. Here, there's nothing left but the light of hope through the window, the lone hopeless bride and the eternal darkness around her...

This is also something VERY different from what I do normally, as I feel really comfortable with typical 3x2 format. I chose the square format, as the right part of the image was completely black. I felt like cutting it would improve the composition.
