Ural Owl, Chester Zoo, UK - a photo on Flickriver

I photographed this owl here in November, and I mean precisely here, on this perch – the autumn leaves have shriveled, but the owl doesn't seem to have moved!

Founded 1931, featuring the then-unusual technique of separating animals from visitors using moats and ditches rather than traditional cages, Chester Zoo is now one of the UK's largest, covering 51 ha. With 1.4 million visitors in 2014, it's also the UK's most-visited wildlife attraction, rated within the world's top 10-15.
