Palatine Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, UK

            I really like the huge windows in the side wall of the council offices, an indication of the building's 210-year history as a catholic chapel, temperance hall, music hall and the 'County' cinema.  The inset panel on the front wall seems to have been a ticket booth.

A photo taken in c.1970 shows that the top and bottom windows on the front wall, plus the three tall windows on the side, were bricked-up (though with smaller windows set into the further two tall windows), but the three 'oculi' on the side wall had yet to be installed at all – that part of the wall was intact, blank brickwork.
