Near-sunset view from Calders, Brant Fell, Howgill Fells near Sedbergh, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Cumbria, UK

Looking down Bram Rigg Beck from the top of Calders Rigg, just below the 674 m asl summit of Calders; the characteristic rounded hilltops of the Howgills tend to restrict views from summit cairns into the immediately neighbouring valleys.

The headwater tributaries of Bram Rigg Beck meet at the foot of Calders Rigg, in the foreground, then pass between, on the left, the northwesternmost of the apparently unnamed ridges radiating from Arant Haw (this one's between Bram Rigg Beck and Swarth Greaves Beck) and, beautifully sunlit on the right, Bram Rigg, the ridge up to Bram Rigg Top (surprisingly). The small summit on the left of the valley is Seat Knott (344 m), beyond Swarth Greaves Beck, whilst the one on the right is Castley Knotts (361 m), on the far side of Long Rigg Beck.

Below the confluence of Bram Rigg Beck and Long Rigg Beck, the resulting, tree-lined Chapel Beck continue into the Lune Valley; the lower slope of Firbank Fell forms the western side of the main Lune Valley, across the back of the photo.
I didn't notice until processing the image that the Lowgill Viaduct is visible at the top right of the background (directly above Castley Knotts), carrying the disused Ingleton Branch of the London & North Western Railway. Having spotted that, the line of the railway itself becomes apparent, and can be traced from the middle of the background rightwards to join the still-very-active West Coast Main Line beside the M6 motorway, at the corner of the image.

The sun had already dropped too low to reach Castley farm itself, to the left of Castley Knotts, but at the edge of the sunlit area is the walled track from the farm to the open fells, and the viewpoint of this earlier photo.
