The little star #Broken - a photo on Flickriver

            If you have mushrooms in your backyard, it’s usually a sign of healthy soil with lots of organic material that promotes the growth of lawn, shrubs and trees. The initially conical golden silky and smooth cap of this fungus flattens as it matures, generally retaining striped radial fibers which in dry weather tend to split or break radially towards the edge of the cap.

For Macro Mondays:  Broken  -Cropped to fit in 2 1/2" screen including the negative space.  Size of the mushroom is about 1".
