I mounted a 5mW rail-mount laser for easier target aquisition at 800mm (or 1200mm in APS-C mode) on the Peak Design capture base plate (v2, small version) on top of the tripod mount plate

Metabones EF - E-Mount T Smart Adapter Mark V
firmware v0.58 from 2018/03/12
- on the a7III AF in AF-C with this combo works perfectly even at ƒ/11, once locked on to the subject the camera tracks it perfectly around the frame
- in AF-S though, the camera has problems finding focus and the lens pumps a lot for maybe 2 seconds - but who needs AF-S anyway at 800mm?

The Metabones V is also weather sealed, so the only component which isn't is the laser ;-)
