SONY is once again leading the pack - what an amazing camera!

As I need neither the 20 fps of the ⍺9 nor the 42MP of the ⍺7RIII this is the perfect camera for me. I preordered it the day after its presentation at WPPI Las Vegas - and now (2018/02/13) it's here :-)

If you should wonder why I use a Commlite electronic adapter instead of a dumb one for this fully manual lens: I glued on a programmable EMF Dandelion chip, which sets the focal length for IBIS correctly and writes EXIF.
That's one of the reasons why I bought the Canon EF-mount version instead of the SONY E-mount one, the other being that I can use my Viltrox Speedbooster and Kenko 1.4x Teleplus with it...

Here's the test chart of this LAOWA 2/105 STF on my a7III

This lens features two different diaphragms - a step-less 14-bladed “perfectly circular” T-stop aperture that works with the apodization element and a 9-bladed aperture which determines the lens’ effective aperture (ƒ-number) and the resulting depth-of-field.

The apodization element causes the loss of 1 .3 stops of light, but that's quite acceptable for the bokeh performance you get - especially compared to the SONY FE 100mm ƒ/2.8 STF GM OSS, which is a T/5.6 and loses two full stops!
