I did a dynamic range test at night with the SONY a7III,
5 stops under- and 2 stops overexposure (uncompressed RAW):
Here's the test scenario description and
here are the results (full resolution jpg files)

Files 1 to 6 are from ISO 12.800 (Auto-ISO baseline) to ISO 400 = 0 to -5 stops (JPGs SOOC)
Files 7 to 12 are the RAW files pulled up by the equivalent stops in ACR 10.3 and exported to JPG
Files 13 to 14 are ISO 25.600 & ISO 51.200 RAW files pulled down by 1 & 2 stops in ACR 10.3 and exported to JPG
File 15 is the ISO 12.800 RAW edited in PS and NR applied - the picture above

ACR 10.3 settings: profile camera neutral, no other settings except exposure were changed - especially NO NR APPLIED!

I can't really see any difference up until -4 stops, at -5 stops noise gets strong, though.

And as I always preach: in low light expose to the right - the pulled down ISO 25.600 & ISO 51.200 files actually show more detail than the pulled up ISO 6.400 and ISO 3.200 files - with the same amount of noise!!!

btw: the Sigma on the Metabones IV focused perfectly even at that -5 stop image - essentially in complete dark!
