A Muddy Confluence. - a photo on Flickriver

            There are two rivers in Kuala Lumpur, the Gombak and the Klang Rivers. Just a hundred yards down river from this view looking over the Gombak River the two rivers meet and take the joint name of the Klang River. This is a historic point as the name Kuala Lumpur means ‘muddy confluence’ which refers to the meeting point of the two rivers. Historically these two rivers have been filthy but a huge amount of work is being invested in a cleaning up project that goes by the name of the “River of Life” project. The steam seen in this image is something to do with that cleansing process. I was given an explanation but alas that was forgotten far too quickly.  

The classical building in mid image is the old Supreme Court house.
